Medical Treatment and surgery
Baruch UMarpeh is the address for rare cases not included in Israeli medical insurance plans. Invariably, such treatment is far more costly than standard procedures.
YARON’S STORYYaron was born with severe deformed arms; both were extremely short with two fingers protruding from each of them. Until age 4, Yaron could not play, crawl or even eat on his own. Baruch U’Marpeh flew Yaron to Boston a number of times where he underwent a series of operations performed by world-class orthopedic hand surgeon, Dr. John Upton, to lengthen his arms. The total cost – including travel and surgeries – were an astronomical half-a-million dollars, all expenses paid by Baruch U’Marpeh. Today, Yaron can function like a normal child: he eats by himself, dresses himself and join his friends in play.
